Format recommendations for writing the e-book:
- Fonts
Main font: Times New Roman
For headings: Times New Roman
- Text size
Body text: A font size of 11pt – 12pt is ideal for body text.
Titles and subtitles:
Chapter title: 18pt – 24pt
Subtitles: 14pt – 16pt
- Spacing and margins
Set a line spacing of 1.5 to give air to the text and make reading more pleasant.
Add 10pt – 12pt spacing between paragraphs to clearly separate blocks of text.
Margins: Margins of 2.5 cm – 3 cm are recommended on all sides of the page, to leave room for annotations or comments in printed editions.
- Navigation
Interactive Table of Contents: Make sure your e-book includes an interactive table of contents with hyperlinks to sections to allow readers to easily navigate between chapters.
These recommendations ensure the readability, aesthetics and clarity of the e-book, being suitable for both online and print use.
Videos for the “Create Future Games” project in the context of STEAM and Gamification – recommendations related to file size, duration, and software to use:
- Duration of the Videos
Explainer videos: 2 – 5 minutes is ideal for educational or explainer videos. This duration is sufficient to convey relevant information without losing the audience’s attention.
Tutorials or demos: 5 – 10 minutes is adequate for tutorials or demos of activities or gamification tools. This allows for complete coverage of a topic without becoming too long.
Recaps or Interviews: 3 – 7 minutes for interviews with teachers, students or experts who provide their perspective on implementing STEAM and Gamification.
- File size
Resolution: For optimal quality, I recommend HD (1280×720) or Full HD (1920×1080). Full HD resolution is ideal for viewing on larger screens, while HD may be sufficient for online content and platforms such as YouTube or e-learning.
Video format: It uses popular and compatible video formats such as MP4, which provides good compression and quality, and is supported by most platforms.
File size: A 5-minute Full HD video should be around 100 – 500 MB in size, depending on the complexity of the graphics and sound. Make sure it’s optimized for distribution platforms.
